SPIRE is a block-stacking game. This page explains, in plain terms, exactly what
the app stores, what it sends to our server, and what third parties can see. It
covers the Android app with the package name com.vivek.spire.
The short version. You can play the whole single-player
game without giving us anything at all. Only if you choose a display name and use
Challenge Friends do we store anything on our server, and even then it is just a
nickname, a random id and your scores — never your email, phone number, contacts
or location.
What stays on your phone only
- Your high scores, coins, unlocked skins, daily missions and streak.
- Your sound setting.
- A random identifier the app generates for itself the first time it runs. It is
not derived from your device, your Google account or anything about you, and
it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Uninstalling SPIRE removes all of this. If Android backup is switched on for your
device, Google may include this data in your personal device backup; that backup is
controlled by you and your Google account, not by us.
What we send to our server, and when
Nothing is sent until you enter a display name to use the multiplayer
Challenge Friends mode. From then on our server stores:
- The display name you typed and the emoji you picked.
- The random identifier described above, plus a login token generated for it.
- Your coin balance, wins, losses and games played.
- For each match you play: the room, your score, and a compact recording of the
taps in that run. We replay that recording on the server to confirm the score
was really achieved — it is what keeps the scoreboards honest. It contains only
timings and block positions.
- If you allow notifications, the push token Google issues for your installation,
so we can tell you when someone joins your room or a match ends.
We do not ask for, collect or store your email address, phone number, contacts,
photos, precise or approximate location, or any account credentials.
Who else is involved
- Google AdMob shows the adverts in the game and may use an
advertising identifier to make them relevant and to detect fraud. In the UK,
the EEA and Switzerland the app asks for your consent before personalised
adverts are used, and you can change that choice at any time. See
how Google
uses data from apps that use its services.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) delivers the notifications.
- Cloudflare hosts the game server that stores the data listed above.
- Google Play tells the app which invite link you arrived from, so a
friend's challenge opens the right room after you install.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the services
listed here.
How long we keep it
Rooms and their scoreboards are cleared automatically once they have been idle for
thirty minutes. Your player record and match history stay until you ask us to delete
them. Push tokens are dropped as soon as Google tells us they are no longer valid.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app removes everything held on your phone. To have your player
record, match history and push token deleted from our server, email
patel.vivek18992@gmail.com with the display name you used. We will
delete it within 30 days and confirm when it is done.
Children
SPIRE is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data
from them. If you believe a child has given us a display name, email us and we will
remove it.
Security
Everything the app sends travels over HTTPS. Scores are verified on our server
rather than trusted from the phone, so a tampered app cannot forge a result.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material
changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
